I bring over 30 years of experience in early childhood and elementary education and an extensive background in child and family studies. Throughout my career, I have managed all aspects of the early childhood experience, including curriculum development, teacher guidance, and parental involvement, as well as developing and directing programs in general and special education. Supporting young children and their families in and out of the classroom, both individually and in group settings has been central to my work. What do I bring? The tools and strategies that come from my deep love of children and a strong understanding of typical and atypical child development.
Most recently, I created and implemented an innovative social skills program at The IDEAL School of Manhattan. Prior to that, I founded The Social Piece, a social skills program in New York City which served a diverse population. A critical feature of the program included home visits to help families create an appropriate supportive environment. Earlier highlights of my career include teaching in several preschools throughout New York City, providing SEIT support for many children, and serving as the director of various programs including, FedKids, a multicultural program for young children ages 15 months to 5 years. As a parent and educator, I appreciate the significance and value of addressing children’s issues early on so that the entire family can thrive.
